Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Shortcut Kings (the "Service"), including the website at https://shortcutkings.com, related applications, cheat sheets, leaderboards, multiplayer features, and paid offerings. The Service is operated by Dvelop AI ("we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, purchasing a subscription or product, or clicking to accept these Terms where presented, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Service and that they have accepted these Terms on your behalf.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law or if we have previously suspended or terminated your account for violation of these Terms.
2. The Service
Shortcut Kings is an online keyboard-shortcut practice and competition platform operated at https://shortcutkings.com. The Service includes:
- Practice — unlimited shortcut drills across official app packs (Browser, Windows, macOS, Word, Gmail, Slack, Excel, VS Code, Photoshop, and others);
- Daily Challenge — one ranked challenge per UTC day, available to registered users and guests;
- Versus — real-time head-to-head matches against other players;
- Leaderboards — global, pack-specific, daily, and private rankings;
- Dashboard — stats, progression (XP and levels), achievements, streaks, cosmetics, and custom pack editing;
- Resources — searchable keyboard shortcut cheat sheets;
- Blog — articles on shortcuts and productivity;
- Paid plans — Premium subscription, Pro Pack, and Team License as described on our Pricing page.
Free accounts receive Browser, Windows, and macOS packs permanently, plus a rotating selection of ten additional app packs that changes at midnight UTC. Premium and certain purchases unlock all packs, timed modes (Speed Run and Survival), ad-free play, cosmetic equipping, custom packs, and advanced stats.
We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or preservation of any particular feature, score, rank, cosmetic item, or user-generated content.
3. Accounts and Security
To access certain features you must register for an account using a valid email address and password, or sign in through a supported third-party identity provider. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it current.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@dvelopai.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may refuse registration, reclaim usernames, or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, impersonate others, or create risk to the Service or other users.
4. Guest Play
Certain features (such as the Daily Challenge) may be available without an account using a browser-generated guest token and display name. Guest data is limited but may appear on public leaderboards. Guest sessions do not create the same portability or deletion rights as registered accounts; see our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- Harass, abuse, threaten, or defame others, or submit offensive, fraudulent, or misleading display names or content;
- Cheat, manipulate scores, exploit bugs, use bots, scripts, automation, or unauthorized clients to gain an unfair advantage;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, crawl, or attempt to extract source code, datasets, or non-public APIs except as permitted by law;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, networks, or security measures;
- Circumvent access controls, paywalls, usage limits, or premium features without authorization;
- Upload or distribute malware, spam, or content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly permitted.
We may investigate violations and take action including content removal, score invalidation, feature restrictions, or account termination.
6. User Content and Custom Packs
You may create custom shortcut packs and other content where enabled ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, subject to the license below.
By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute it solely to operate, improve, and promote the Service. You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that your User Content does not violate third-party rights or these Terms.
We may remove User Content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or applicable law.
7. Leaderboards, Profiles, and Public Display
Scores, rankings, display names, player profiles, equipped cosmetics, and similar gameplay information may be publicly visible by design. By participating in ranked modes or enabling a public profile, you consent to that display as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Subscriptions, Purchases, and Billing
Paid offerings include:
- Premium — $3/month or $19.99/year (recurring subscription). New subscribers may receive an introductory offer of $1 for the first month, after which the regular monthly rate applies;
- Pro Pack — $29.99 one-time (permanent access to all current and future official packs);
- Team License — $99.99/year (covers up to ten users with private team leaderboard and shared custom packs).
Current prices, features, and billing intervals are also shown on our Pricing page and at checkout. All fees are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated. Prices may change; changes apply to new purchases and renewals after notice as required by law.
Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. By purchasing, you also agree to that processor's applicable terms. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
Subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel through the billing portal linked from your account or by contacting support. Cancellation stops future charges but generally does not refund the current billing period unless required by law or stated at purchase.
Refunds. Except where required by law or expressly stated in writing, all sales are final. Chargebacks or payment disputes may result in account suspension pending resolution.
Taxes. You are responsible for applicable taxes unless we state otherwise.
Free tier and ads. Free accounts may see advertising served by third-party partners. Premium subscribers and certain purchasers may receive an ad-free experience as described on the Pricing page.
9. Virtual Items and Cosmetics
The Service may offer virtual cosmetic items (such as player tags, cards, and loadout slots) earned through gameplay or promotional events. Virtual items have no real-world monetary value, are non-transferable, and are licensed to you for use within the Service only. We may modify, rebalance, or discontinue virtual items. Except where required by law, virtual items are not refundable, including upon account termination.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, logos, cheat sheet compilations, default shortcut packs, game mechanics, and documentation (excluding your User Content), is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose.
"Shortcut Kings," related marks, and associated logos are our trademarks. You may not use them without prior written permission except as necessary to refer to the Service in a factual manner.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service integrates with or links to third-party services for hosting, payments, authentication, advertising, and data processing, as well as external sites such as Dvelop AI. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT RESULTS (INCLUDING LEADERBOARD PLACEMENTS OR LEARNING OUTCOMES) WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.
The Service is for entertainment and skill practice. Shortcut information is provided for educational purposes; we do not guarantee compatibility with every application version, operating system, or keyboard layout.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dvelop AI and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account and data deletion using the form in Section 15 of our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created legal or security risk, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution) will survive.
16. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@dvelopai.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days.
Except where prohibited by law, you and we agree that any dispute not resolved informally will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may also have the right to bring claims in your country of residence and to use platform out-of-court dispute resolution mechanisms where applicable.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (such as a banner or email). Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
18. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
